Broad and Cassel’s Heather Siegel Miller Joins Spectrum Health Board of Directors

BOCA RATON, Fla.; June 4, 2012 — Heather Siegel Miller, a health care lawyer and senior counsel with the Miami and Boca Raton offices of the statewide law firm Broad and Cassel, has been named to the board of directors of Spectrum Health, Inc,. a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Spectrum Health supports the programs, services, activities and interests of its subsidiaries and other affiliates. It serves as the parent corporation to Hospice of Palm Beach County, Hospice of Palm Beach County Foundation, Hospice of Broward County, Hospice of Broward County Foundation, The Medical Store, and South Florida Palliative Medicine Specialists. In addition, it oversees Spectrum Health Services, Inc.,

Miller will be serving on the quality initiative/governance/credentialing committee to assist the Board in its oversight of Spectrum’s physician credentialing, and quality and compliance programs.

A resident of Boca Raton and a member of the 2012 class of Leadership Palm Beach, Miller works with physicians and hospitals on complex health care transactions, contracts and employment agreements, regulatory compliance and federal and state fraud and abuse issues. Most recently, she also was elected to the board of directors of the Palm Beach County Medical Society Services, Inc., a division of the Palm Beach County Medical Society that administers such advocacy programs as Project Access for the low-income uninsured residents of Palm Beach County.

Miller earned a Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in New York, a master’s degree in business from Baruch-College Zicklin School of Business in New York and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She was named a 2010 and 2011 “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine, an honor earned by less than 2.5% of attorneys in Florida.

“Heather’s involvement in the community and understanding of the health care industry will be valuable assets to our board,” said Vice Chairman of the Spectrum Board of Directors Randy M. Levitt, who is first vice president, senior investment management consultant for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC. “We look forward to her involvement and input.”
