Gabriel Imperato, managing partner of Broad and Cassel’s Fort Lauderdale office and co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Compliance Practice Group, will be a featured speaker at the Society of Corporate Compliance & Ethics (SCCE) 2014 Compliance & Ethics Institute.
Imperato will be presenting on the relationship and respective roles of compliance program officers and counsel, with an emphasis on how to respond to organizational compliance matters. His discussion will include the use of counsel to address routine compliance questions, reliance on advice of counsel to protect the organization and the use of counsel as a messenger for the organization.
Imperato has practiced health care law in both the public and private sectors for more than thirty years and is Board Certified as a specialist in health law by The Florida Bar. He is also certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) by the HCCA. Imperato has served as a longtime member of the board of directors for HCCA and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE). He is currently the president-elect of these organizations.
