Broad and Cassel today announced its Fort Lauderdale Managing Partner Gabriel Imperato has been selected to lead the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), member-based associations for compliance and ethics professionals with a combined membership of more than 14,200 globally.
Board certified as a specialist in health law by The Florida Bar, Imperato has been a longtime member of the board of directors for HCCA and will serve as executive board president through November 2015. He, along with the executive committee and board of directors, will be charged with championing ethical practice and compliance standards for the health care industry while positioning SCCE/HCCA as an industry leader.
A national expert on fraud and abuse, reimbursement and antitrust matters in the health care field, Imperato was one of the first attorneys in the country to be Certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC) by HCCA. His personal practice includes representing individuals and organizations accused of health care fraud, and assisting and advising health care organizations on corporate governance and compliance matters.
Imperato is a member of Broad and Cassel’s Executive Committee and Health Law Practice Group. He also co-chairs the firm’s White Collar Defense and Compliance Practice Group.
