More than two months have now gone by since the beginning of my official tenure as president of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and the Health Care Compliance Association. I have been active with the organization since its inception and a board member and officer for the past 10 years. I have learned a lot during this time about the needs and aspirations of the compliance profession and also about the obstacles and challenges to promoting compliance and an ethical culture in business organizations. I have taken a little bit different perspective on these issues now that I’m more directly involved in the many things that make SCCE/HCCA a successful membership organization. In attempting to fulfill my obligation to see that it continues to serve the interests of the membership.
