Prior to joining Broad and Cassel, Consuegra was an associate at Dresnick, Rodriguez & Perry in Miami. Throughout her career, Consuegra has worked closely with health care professionals and, more specifically, several hospitals – advising them on multifaceted issues involving HIPAA, advance directives, guardianships, and Baker Act compliance. Additionally, she works with clients to assist in acquiring privileges at hospitals and guiding them through the intricate steps of applying for licensure and relicensure, as well as with overpayment matters involving Medicare, Medicaid, or other third party payers.
Born in Cuba and fluent in Spanish, Consuegra is active on various committees for local community and professional organizations, including the Hispanic American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association and The Florida Bar.
Consuegra holds a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Miami and earned her juris doctor degree from Loyola School of Law in New Orleans, where she received the Civil Law Certificate and served as the secretary of the Spanish American Law Student Association.
News of Consuegra’s addition comes on the heels of a string of new hire announcements from Broad and Cassel’s office in Miami and others statewide. The firm recently announced the addition of Senior Counsel O. Benton Curtis in Miami. Additionally, Managing Partner Robert Sickles and Associate John Gaset joined the firm’s Tampa office while four additional associates joined in Orlando.
